If your idea of a good coffee is a bold, full-bodied shot that wakes you up properly, you want the strongest pods you can find. But "strong" means a couple of different things — let's clear that up, then point you to the right pods.

Strong flavour vs strong caffeine

Intensity (the 1–10 number on pods) measures body and roast depth, not caffeine. A high-intensity pod tastes bold, dark and full-bodied. If it's a caffeine hit you're after, that comes more from the bean type — Robusta has roughly double the caffeine of Arabica, which is why traditional espresso blends include it. For the boldest flavour

Choose blends with more Robusta content — often the classic and intense espresso blends. A short, high-intensity espresso concentrates both flavour and caffeine into one hit.
